Macclesfield High School Students Meet with the Three Macclesfield Candidates
Students in Years 7 and 8 at Macclesfield High School will be taking part in a mock election on Wednesday 5th May. Students representing candidates from the three main parties are standing and each will give a 3 minute speech at a hustings on 5th May.

Female World Thai Boxing Champion, Rachael Mackenzie Pays A Visit To Macclesfield High School
Students at Macclesfield High School were treated to a morning in the presence of the UK’s first female Thai Boxing World Champion, Rachael Mackenzie, on Friday 5th February as she paid a visit to support the school’s participation in the Sky Sports Living for Sport programme.

Year 7 students at Macclesfield High School were given the opportunity to gain an insight into how to become a successful author when Sophie McKenzie, award winning author of the best selling book, ‘Girl Missing’, visited the school on Friday 22nd January.

Macclesfield High School Raises Funds for Haiti Earthquake Victims
Macclesfield High School held a whole school non-uniform day on Friday 22nd January in order to raise funds for Haiti earthquake victims.  In addition, students from Park Lane Special School who are educated at MHS, held a sponsored swim to raise further funds for the Haiti earthquake appeal.

Macclesfield High School was delighted to welcome Teresa Wong (from Aim Higher Cheshire and Warrington) who gave an illuminating presentation and workshop to students in Years 10 and 11 which looked at what nanotechnology is and how we are using nanotechnology in our lives today.

Macclesfield High School will be holding their “Healthy Living Week” from 29th —3rd July 2009. The aim of the week is to raise awareness about what makes us “healthy” and it will be organized around the Olympic theme. The week will be a fun packed opportunity for all students to become involved.
