Macclesfield High School Holds Little Champions Festival

Macclesfield High School Holds Little Champions FestivalMacclesfield High School was delighted to hold another Little Champions Festival in their new Sports Centre on 2nd February.  Year 2 pupils from Gawsworth, Hollinhey, Ash Grove and St Barnabas primary schools attended, as did three pupils from Park Lane Special School.  Children from Wincle Primary School were, at the last minute, unable to join in the fun because the roads were blocked with snow!

There was tremendous enthusiasm shown by all the children taking part and smiling faces all around.  Mr Shingles, our School Sports Co-ordinator, said that “ the 25 Year 7 students who helped to chaperone the primary school children and their teachers around the school, demonstrated professionalism in the way they coached and enthused the children in their activities”.   Mrs Pam Childs, Head of Gawsworth Primary School, said: “my pupils really enjoyed working with Macclesfield High School’s Year 7 students.  The event was a great experience for everyone involved”.  Mr Ward, Headteacher of Macclesfield High School, thanked Adam Young from RC Coaching and Kim Janes for all their hard work in ensuring the smooth running of the event.

Macclesfield High School will be holding another event on 9th February for three more of its partner primary schools.
