Geography, Science and Technology 6-8 April 2009 Conway Centre
Six of our Year 9 students attended the above event during the Easter holiday and participated in a number of activities including teambuilding tasks, a technology competition, workshops and field trips focusing on mountains, rocks, rivers, sand dunes and seashores. On the first day students took part in a glaciations study in the Snowdonia range which included a trip into Electric Mountain. The weather was kind and the students were very positive about their experience. On the second day students participated in a forensic investigation: a DNA electrophoresis experiment using trig to calculate a rockets telemetry; an electronics practical, a science investigation and presentation.
Our students participated fully and received praise from their tutors about their willingness to contribute and work as a team with pupils from different schools.
