As part of their prize, Alexandra, Rebecca and Carole have each been invited to enjoy a guided tour of the 2012 Olympic Village in London on 13th September.  This village will provide accommodation for thousands of competitors and officials taking part in the 2012 Olympic Games.

Mr Harrison, Headteacher, said: “I am extremely proud of Alexandra and Rebecca’s achievements and for the commitment they have shown to the Girls in Engineering Project this year.  Mrs Peate has done a fantastic job in encouraging all our participants in the scheme this year and her award is extremely well-deserved.  Their tour of the 2012 Olympic Village is a fitting tribute to their individual success”.

The “Engineering - Girls can do it too” project was launched in March 2008 to promote engineering to girls and young women.  It has been successful during that time in increasing the number of schools and girls participating in the scheme.
