Enrichment & PSHE

In Years 7-11 all students have an Enrichment lesson each week. This includes Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) as well as Citizenship.

The aims of the PSHE programme are:

• Developing confidence and responsibility and making the most of their abilities;
• Developing a healthy, safer lifestyle;
• Developing good relationships and respecting the differences between people.

The aims of the Citizenship programme are:

• Developing a broad knowledge and understanding of the topical events they study; the rights, responsibilities and duties of citizens; the role of the voluntary sector; forms of governments; provision of public services and the criminal legal systems;
• Developing an understanding of how the public gets information; how opinion is formed and expressed, including through the media; and how and why changes take place in society;
• Taking part in school and community-based activities; demonstrating personal and group responsibility in their attitudes to themselves and others.
