Year 7


Assessment:

Students will be assessed at key stages each term in Design, Making and Evaluation. Students will carry out assessment tests and complete peer assessments throughout Key Stage 3.

NC Levels: It is expected that students will achieve a Level 5+ by the end of Key Stage 3.

Coursework: A portfolio of evidence (50%) internally set, assessed and verified before external verification.
Content of Course: Students complete compulsory units in Career Planning, Personal Skills, ICT and Life Skills and an optional unit in Enterprise .

Art, Design & Creative Studies

Students specialise in Handling Images and Graphics, which is split into four units:

  1. Investigating information and developing research techniques.
  2. Developing and handling media and materials.
  3. Production techniques specialising in printing materials.
  4. Working to a set brief to produce a body of work showing evidence of research, planning and application skills.
